Downtown revisited

Some more shots of downtown Durham, NC.

Indeed

So I was walking by the pharmacy on Main St and I heard some loud barking. Turns out this Great Dane was keeping the peace from his perch :-)

May Day march for immigration reform

Since Blogger has a limit on the number of photos/videos I can upload on a single post, see my flickr set with 100+ photos of the Trail of Dreams, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, and the rest of the crowd supporting a just and a comprehensive immigration reform as well as a video of the closing prayer.

Triangle Ralley Against SB 1070

Students from UNC and Duke organized a march and rally against the implementation of Arizona's SB 1070. What started as a student protest turned out a significant number of community members, including members of the NC DREAM Team who spoke about the effects of the broken immigration system. A friend also put together this video of the protest.

Crowd recording the moment....

We are all Arizona!

Palestine United Benefit, Dinner, and Concert

Palestine United hosted a dinner, benefit, and concert featuring Maher Halabi at the Sheraton Imperial Convention Center to raise funds for The Jerusalem Fund. It was held on Nakba Day and featured some great (and some not-so-interesting) speakers, as well as youth dabke dances, and a performance from the Palestine United Dabke Dancers.

Graham Memorial Building at UNC

A few shots taken after the Anna Baltzer presentation at UNC. These were taken of the Graham Memorial building near the parking lot to Moorehead Planetarium.

Catch up day!

So just because I haven't been posting, doesn't mean I haven't been shooting :-) I'll try to catch up on the backlog of photos, but while you wait, you can always find more at my flickr page.

To start things off, here are some shots from today in Downtown Durham.

Myrtle Weekend

My parents came out for an extended weekend trip, so we headed down to Myrtle Beach to get some sun and some well deserved down-time.

Woody's- also say no more...

I was unaware that there was such a thing as Maryland Fried Chicken, but there you have it!
